May 29, 2007

and then there were five

James

We welcomed James as chief of our band of gypsies (he officially starts in early July). Sadly, Nicole couldn't join us for the festivities, but we will soon be an office of five. Actually, on that note, we found a slightly larger office we will be moving into later this week to fit us all (including David's laundry from biking to work).

getting our hands dirty

Bringing method to our neighborhood grocer in Richmond meant setting the shelves ourselves this afternoon. We moved everything in the whole aisle one slot to the right.

Here's Steve, the happy store manager when we were done.

a good trade

We traded some stainless steel cleaner for coffee with Laura, the very nice barista across the street from us.

Here’s another vicarious peak at our start in the UK (without having to sit in close quarters with Phil when he's elected to bike to work - note the hanging laundry below).

recent highlights

  • Group fieldtrip in the"Phil-mobile" to sift through damaged stock in blaze orange high-visibility jackets (sadly, our camera wasn't working that day), and managed to gather over a pallet of usable bottles for give away to people.
  • Discovering the joy of assertive left-hand driving on remote English roads with David to do store checks in Aylesbury, Yeading, Cheshunt, High Wycombe, and Slough

advocate of the week

We're rolling out a sampling program to a bunch of stores carry method. David and I popped into the Osterly Tesco and caught one of the samplers, Grace, with her arms full.
